PDR with Large Dents

"How big of a dent can you fix?"

That's a question we field pretty often. The answer: it depends.

That's not very straightforward, but dents are never straightforward. There are so many variables that have to be evaluated, especially with large or complex dents.

As a general rule, though, the depth of the dent in relation to the diameter determines whether it's a good candidate for Paintless Dent Removal. Big and shallow is better than small and deep. This has to do with stretched out metal.

A good example is a panel that was shot with a BB or pellet. Often times the dent is only the size of a nickel, but is so deep and stretched it isn't a good candidate for Paintless Dent Removal.
